Description
The Union operation takes two solid wireframe objects (or object triangle data) and creates a single wireframe with the same surface appearance and characteristics as the two component inputs together.
The volume common to both wireframe inputs is not distinguishable. When using this command, it is not important which order the two objects are selected.
Note: This command supports flexible wireframe selection.
How to Use
-
Run the command.
-
The Union dialog will open.
-
Select the two wireframe objects using either the drop downs or the picking tools. You can either select wireframe objects that are currently in memory or use the Selected triangles option, then select triangle data in any 3D window, committing the selected data using the corresponding Store current selection button.
-
You can output data either within the Current object, an existing wireframe object (pick it from the list) or a new object (type a new name).
-
Click OK to execute.
Example
In the following example, an overlapping cube and cylinder are available for selection (as independent wireframe objects). The table further below details the output data created as a result of using the Wireframe Union command.
