All Pit Options

To access this screen:

  • Optimization control bar >> Pushbacks >> Settings and select the All Pit Options tab.

Looking for help on Mining Width Control? See Mining Width Control.

The parameters defined here apply to all pushbacks. Pit Optimizer OES is the key input to the Pushback Generator.

To define global pushback settings:

  1. Display the All Pit Options screen.

  2. Define how the Final pit limits are defined:

    • Ultimate Pit – The largest pit defined by Pit Optimizer OES.

    • Pit shell (phase) No. – A particular phase number.

    • OES block No.– A block in the Optimal Extraction Sequence.

  3. Choose the Maximum Pushback Number. This is the limiting pushback. Pushbacks are only generated up to this number.

  4. By default, when pushbacks are scheduled, scheduling starts at pushback 1. Check Recalculate starting at pushback to specify a later pushback if you wish to reschedule without regenerating previously-calculated pushbacks. This is ideal for rescheduling part of the pushback plan, saving time in recalculations and preserving known acceptable data.

  5. Choose a factor to exaggerate slope angles by a fixed factor by setting a value other than 1 in Allow slopes steeper than ultimate pit slopes by factor.

Note: All slopes defined in Ultimate Pit Settings are multiplied by this factor. You can enter a value greater than 1 for steeper slopes, or less than 1 for shallower slopes. See Pit Optimization Essentials.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Save your project.
