SNPVS to SNPVS+
Moving from Studio NPVS to Studio NPVS+ is straightforward, and Datamine are ready to support you with the transition both directly and via a range of resources including technical documentation and focused eLearning.
You should consider the following when planning your migration campaign:
-
Studio NPVS+ requires a new application license for product activation. Datamine can discuss how this affects your organization and work through the simple process to secure new Studio NPVS+ licenses.
-
Datamine data files (.dm or .dmx) can be read by both Studio NPVS (.dmx in version 3.0 or later) and Studio NPVS+ (any version).
-
Studio NPVS projects can be read by Studio NPVS+ but the opposite is not possible. Once a project has been saved in Studio NPVS+, it cannot be read by a legacy Studio NPVS application. In summary, projects can migrate from Studio NPVS to Studio NPVS+ only.
-
Your important legacy parameters and configurations from Studio NPVS (economic model, pushbacks, slope regions) are understood by Studio NPVS+. You simply need to reconfigure your new schedule settings to get up and running.
-
Once you have transitioned to Studio NPVS+, you can no longer add scheduler runs to a "batch" as the new solver will always use the optimal number of cores to generate a schedule. You can still batch process the economic model, ultimate pits and pushbacks in Studio NPVS+.
Migrating Multimine Projects
Studio NPVS+ can open existing Studio NPVS and NPV Scheduler Multimine projects. When you save the opened project, a converted Studio NPVS+ Multimine project with the .mmsp file extension is created in the same folder.
The converted project retains summaries and reports for imported models and economic models. Ultimate Pit, Pushbacks and Schedule settings and results are not carried over. Configure the required Schedule settings and generate new schedule results in Studio NPVS+.
To migrate a Multimine project:
-
In Studio NPVS+, open the existing Studio NPVS or NPV Scheduler Multimine project.
-
Review the retained imported-model and economic-model summaries and reports.
-
Save the project to create the converted
.mmspproject file. -
Configure the required Schedule settings and generate new results.
It's a good idea to move to Studio NPVS+ as soon as possible. Whilst we will continue to support our Studio NPVS customers, the newer application is our vehicle for delivering cutting-edge R&D functions, optimizations and other improvements long into the future. Studio NPVS+ has a full and exciting roadmap for strategic mine planners.
We want your transition to be a smooth as possible and are ready to discuss the best way forward.
