condition-string ("cond")

See this command in the command table.

To access this command:

  • Digitize ribbon > Condition > Condition.

  • Using the command line, enter "condition-string" and press ENTER.

  • Use the quick key combination "cond".

  • Display the Find Command screen, locate condition-string and click Run.

Command Overview

Uses the parameters of maximum and minimum chord lengths, and a minimum angle to modify a string. After string selected, this command displays the Enter Condition String Parameters screen.

This command is similar to the simplify-string ("sps") command.

If the command has been used previously, the most recent conditioning parameters are reinstated.

Tip: preselect string data to automatically display the parameters screen. You can preselect one or more strings.

Command steps:

  1. Run the command.

  2. The Enter Condition String Parameters screen displays.

  3. If not already selected, select a string to condition.

  4. Enter the relevant parameters for conditioning.

Command Automation

You can automate by passing this command and parameters into oDmApp.ParseCommand(), using any COM-aware scripting language.

Note: For more information on scripting in Studio NPVS+, please refer to your Scripting Tutorial (Help > Scripting Tutorial).

Example Parameter String (JS):

oDmApp.ParseCommand("condition-string @point=-27.533174,10.168432,0.0,1 'Y' '50.0' '10.0' '5.0'";

Where:

  • @point=-27.533174,10.168432,0.0,1 is the @point=dX,dY,dZ,nbutton1: comma-delimited pick argument group.

  • 'Y' is the strApplyToAll: string token. If first character is Y (case-insensitive), an additional max-chord token is expected next; otherwise this token is treated as max chord length directly.

  • '50.0' is the strMaxChordLength: string parsed to numeric (double), must be > strMinChordLendth.

  • '10.0' is the strMinChordLendth: string parsed to numeric (double), must be >= 0 .

  • '5.0' is the strMinAngle: string parsed to numeric (double), must be >= 0 .

Parameters Table

Parameter Description Reqd? Example Syntax
@point=dX,dY,dZ,nbutton1

Comma-delimited pick argument group.

  • dX , dY , dZ : numeric values (double).

  • nbutton1 : integer parsed as part of point input. (Parameter is not actually used so can be left as the example and ignored).

Y @point=-27.533174,10.168432,0.0,1
strApplyToAll

String token. If first character is Y (case-insensitive), an additional max-chord token is expected next; otherwise this token is treated as max chord length directly.

Y 'Y'
strMaxChordLength

String parsed to numeric (double), must be > strMinChordLendth .

Y '50.0'
strMinChordLendth

String parsed to numeric (double), must be >= 0 .

Y '10.0'
strMinAngle

String parsed to numeric (double), must be >= 0 .

Y '5.0'

Note: The parser also checks strApplyToAll for N, but that path does not complete successfully in this parse flow for scripting usage.
