Command Overview

Note: Don't confuse this command with select-wireframe-data-switch and similar commands. These set the selection mode for wireframe data, either to allow data to be selected or not. In comparison, select-wireframe is a command that activates string picking mode.

Activates wireframe picking mode. Once active, you can use the cursor to select wireframe data according to the current Project Settings. This command will activate wireframe picking regardless of any other settings.

Command steps:

  1. Define your wireframe selection settings,
  2. Run the command
  3. Pick wireframe data with the cursor. Depending on your selection settings either the whole wireframe object is selected, one or more triangles, data adhering to a particular GROUP or SURFACE or ATTRIBUTE, or a specific filter expression.

Note: This command supports flexible wireframe selection.

Command Automation

You can automate by passing this command and parameters into oDmApp.ParseCommand(), using any COM-aware scripting language.

Note: For more information on scripting in Studio NPVS+, please refer to your Scripting Tutorial (Help > Scripting Tutorial).

Example Parameter String (JS):

oDmApp.ParseCommand("select-wireframe 'KeyFieldColumn=ZONE;Message=Pick;HonourOverlaySelection=yes;KeyFieldColumnParameter=BLOCKID'";

Where:

  • KeyFieldColumn=ZONE is the KeyFieldColumn: String column name. When supplied and not empty, selection is performed by that column and the selection mode is set to column filtering.

  • Message=Pick is the Message: String prompt shown for the selection command.

  • HonourOverlaySelection=yes is the HonourOverlaySelection: Valid value. The source sets honour-overlay-selection to true only when the value is exactly yes; other values are false.

  • KeyFieldColumnParameter=BLOCKID is the KeyFieldColumnParameter: String custom-attribute name used to resolve a key-field column parameter. When supplied and not empty, selection is performed by column filtering.
