Define Destination Parameters

To access this dialog:

  • Using the Optimization control bar, select Allocation & Flow | Haulage Info | Haulage/Rock Destinations | Parameters (From pit to the entry point and within)

Field Details:

Available rock type(s): the list of relevant rock types and processing methods. Select a label and click Add, or double click a label to add the type to the “Accepted rock type” list.

Accepted rock type(s): material types deliverable to this destination. Select a label and click Delete, or double click a label to subtract the rock type from the list.

Storage limitations

storage capacity refers to accumulated tonnage over the mine life.

 

Unlimited storage capacity: select [Unlimited storage capacity] for destinations such as crusher or mill.

Storage capacity limited to: select [Storage capacity limited to] for destinations such as waste dumps or leach pads.

Accepts material after period: enter 0 if the material is accepted from the first period, otherwise the material will only be accepted after the selected period (ex. if period 4 is selected, material will only be accepted from period 5 and on)

The scheduler needs the time to be defined prior to optimization but time depends on schedule resulting from optimization. Therefore, there will be differences between trucks hours per period desired and resulting from scheduling.

 

Exit Bench and travel between Pit Exit and Haulage Destination

For Multimine MAO only Select a mine name: Select a mine name: in a Multimine project the list displays a list of available mines

Exit bench: the bench at which the trucks exit the pit on the way to this destination. The bench count starts at zero at the top of the block model and increases downward. You can enter the bench directly or double click on an elevation in the Bench elevation reference box.

Time from Pit to destination: the average time trucks travel from pit exit to destination entry. EFH distance is calculated automatically.

Time from destination to Pit: the average time trucks travel from destination entry to pit exit. EFH distance is calculated automatically.

Set parameters by pushback and bench: click Open Spreadsheet if you need to set up pushback and/or bench-specific haulage destination parameters. Displays the Define Haulage Destination Parameters dialog.

Travel within Haulage Destination:

No travel within Haulage Destination is selected when trucks do not travel additional distance when delivering new material to destinations such as crushers.

Travel within Haulage Destination increases in time is selected when trucks travel additional distance when delivering new material to destinations such as waste dumps progressing away from the pit.

Travel within Haulage Destination decreases in time is selected when trucks travel reduced distance when delivering new material to destinations such as waste dumps progressing towards the pit.

Studio NPVS assumes the additional distance traveled within a destination (Add Distance) is proportional to the additional amount of material delivered to the destination (Add Material) by a coefficient called Haulage Factor (HF). In other words:

Add Distance = Add Material * HF

Haulage Factor can be defined using example data or directly. Assuming the truck travels extra1.2 min from destination entry to dumping location and extra 1.1 min from dumping location to destination entry for placing additional 2,500,000t on the destination. If the reference speed is 30km/h the Haulage Factor is calculated as:

That means haulage trucks will travel additional 0.46 m for placing additional 1000t on the destination.

The Haulage Factor can be also entered directly as meters per 1000t.
