Description

Generates a single string from two overlapping strings whilst maintaining the attributes of the original strings.

This differs from the combine-strings command, which copies all attributes of the first string to the second as part of the combination process.

How to Use

  1. Run the command.

  2. Following the prompts in the Status Bar, select (click on a segment) the portion of the first string which is to be included in the combination.

  3. Select the portion of the second string which is to be combined with the first.

  4. Click Cancel.

  • The overlapping strings do not need to be perimeters i.e. closed strings.
  • The resulting string  will contain the attributes from the first of the two strings.
  • This command is used in conjunction with the Keep Originals toggle (Design | String Tools | Keep Originals) and dictates whether the original string data is kept when strings are combined. See keep-combined-switch.
