Description

Creates multiple strings where a defined set of planes intersect a wireframe object or selected wireframe triangle data. Output strings will inherit their colour from the original wireframe.

Displays the Multiple Section dialog.

Note: This command supports flexible wireframe selection.

How to Use

  1. Run the command.

  2. Select the required wireframe object or choose to use preselected wireframe triangle data (from any loaded wireframe data object).

  3. Define the plane orientation that will be used to generate section strings, either using one of the presets (Horizontal, North-South etc.) or define a custom Azimuth and Inclination.

  4. Define the plane reference (origin) point for the initial section

You can also define a plane orientation and origin by selecting an existing wireframe triangle, using the Pick Face button, or you can simply use the current 3D view plane.

  5. Specify the plane interval (the Section Spacing) to be used to create intersection strings.

  6. Choose if you wish to create a Single Object output (containing all string boundaries) or a collection of string outputs. If a single object, you can output data either within the Current object, an existing wireframe object (pick it from the list) or a new object (type a new name).

  7. If you are generating a single object, this object can have an optional, additional field representing the section index that each output string entity is related to, within the object (Section Field).
