Scheduler Settings: Time

To access this dialog:

In the Scheduler Settings dialog, select the Time tab.

Time is defined by “consumption” of an Economic Model attribute (usually ore of one or more types) or Truck Hours.

Field Details:

Planning period label: typically [Year]; used for reporting. You can specify the number of days in your planning period.

Define time flow as output of the following attributes options:

Attribute Consumption Rates: manage consumption attributes such as ore types with Add, Edit and Delete buttons. Reset reverts to the default time definition by total ore production. When Mining dilution or Mining recovery are changed from their default values in Economic Settings dialog you can define time in terms of diluted/recovered ore mass. The Adjust for D/R button will set the consumption rates so the resulting schedule has diluted/recovered ore mass as defined in Reset all Rates to box.

Truck Hours: The option is available only when haulage parameters are defined in the Haulage Information dialog. Rock and Distance By Mass coefficients are populated automatically. You need to define required truck hours in the Set Truck Hours to box. The Truck Hours target is automatically added, but you need to define proper Target, Minimum, and Maximum values in the Define Target dialog

The time to haul a block from its in situ location to final destination may depend on the period when the block is mined. On the other hand, when scheduling using truck hours as a target or time variable, the haulage time of each block is required to determine the block’s sequence and the period when it should be mined.

To solve the above dilemma, Studio NPVS calculates haulage time in two steps. First, before knowing the block sequence, it is assumed that blocks will be delivered to the nearest haulage destination according to their processing type and that there is no travel within the haulage destination. With these assumptions, the truck hours are computed and all blocks are scheduled. Second, knowing when a block and all preceding blocks are mined, Studio NPVS can accurately calculate and report the haulage times taking into account:

● destination capacities

● increased haulage distance within destinations

● decreased haulage distance within destinations

For this reason, there may be differences between targeted truck hour values and reported truck hour values.

Consumption rates adjustments over time: adjust consumption rates over time. For example, suppose you want to reduce the rates by 50% over the first 4 years and apply the normal rates afterwards; enter an End Time of '4' and an Adjustment of '0.5' in the first grid box row, and an End Time of '200' and an Adjustment of '1.0' in the second grid box row.
