Stockpiles I
Defining stockpiles is optional. Studio NPVS stockpiles are identified by a label and defined by the following parameters:
-
A list of rock types allowed on the stockpile
-
Maximum capacity of the stockpile
-
Maximum reclaim rate (may vary with time) from the stockpile.
-
Rehandling cost and recovery adjustments (may vary with time).
A stockpile is defined by setting its label in the Manage Stockpiles box, followed by entering its parameters.
Field Details:
Create Stockpiles for all ore types in one go: use this button to create a stockpile for each ore type. The Create Identical Stockpiles for All Ore Types dialog contains the following fields:
-
Stockpile name prefix: choose a prefix to identify automatically-generated stockpiles. The prefix will be followed by the rock type code for each item, e.g. SP Oxide, SP Sulfide etc. Once these stockpiles are created, any further use of the Create Identical Stockpiles for All Ore Types dialog will not permit the same prefix to be used.
-
Storage capacity: the maximum capacity of each stockpile to be created.
Mining Dilution and Mining Recovery are used when calculating the net revenue for material reclaimed from stockpiles. Tonnages and grades are reported with their in-situ values. Mining Dilution and Mining Recovery are not applied to material from External Sources. |
-
The parameters defined below are constant over time: these parameters are defined in Maximum reclaim rate, Rehandling costs and Product recovery adjustment fields and do not vary over time.
-
-
Maximum reclaim rate: the maximum ore tonnage that can be retrieved from the stockpile in one time period (year). Maximum reclaim rates can vary over time and can be zero. For example, if you do not want the stockpile to be processed during the first 5 periods, set the Maximum reclaim rate to zero for the time interval ending at year 5.
-
Rehandling cost: the cost per rock mass unit of retrieving ore from the stockpile.
-
Product recovery adjustment: a multiplier adjustment of product recovery.
-
-
The parameters vary over time: if this option is selected, the Define button becomes available. The parameters need to be defined in the Define Parameters by Period window when clicking on the Define button
Optional initial stockpile content: for pre-existing stockpiles, set the initial ore tonnage and element content. By default, the stockpile is assumed empty. You may change this by specifying the initial tonnage and grades of all elements.
