Pit Optimization Settings: Slopes

An explanation of fields and properties

Pit Optimization Settings: Slopes

To access this dialog:

  • Using the Optimization control bar, select Ultimate Pit | Settings and select the Sequencing tab.

3D slope regions are either imported or Studio NPVS-generated.  For detailed explanation of the optimization process, see Pit Optimization. You can only select a slope region file if one has been previously defined for the active project, using the Make 3D Regions dialog.

Once the slope region file is selected, its available regions appear in the lower window and their parameters can then be defined using the Define Slopes dialog.

Field Details:

Select slope region: select One Global Region or an Indicator file from the provided list.

Max slope error: define the maximum permitted slope error for all regions in the slope region object. This default value is applied to all slope regions unless overridden by a region-specific setting.

3D regions defined in this file: list of named slope regions defined in the selected slope region file; select a label and click Parameters to define slopes for the selected region.

Parameters...: once a 3D region file has been selected, the available regions are listed in the lower window. Select a region and click Parameters to enter the Define Slopes dialog where slope properties can be defined.
