Import Bench Surface

Defining bench information using 3D surfaces

Import Bench Surface

To access this dialog:

  • Using the Bench Definition task panel, select the Surfaces option, then Add new bench....

This dialog is used to select an existing 3D surface (wireframe) to define a bench within your open pit project. This dialog is accessed as part of the Bench Definition managed task.

Once a surface (filtered or otherwise) has been imported, it is analyzed and the following information posted back to the Define Benches task table:

  • Bench: an automatically generated index number
  • Height: the calculated height of the bench
  • Crest/Mid/Toe: elevations for the crest, mid and toe positions of the bench
  • Label: the generated label (normally the Crest value)
  • Surface: the name of the surface as it will be stored within your current OP database.

Field Details:

Surface file: use the browse button to select a wireframe triangles file containing bench data.

Filter: if your input file contains data from multiple benches, or you wish to filter the incoming information for any other reason, click the ellipsis (...) to display Studio's Expression Builder. This allows you to control which elements of the data file are imported in order to define a single bench.
