Command Overview

Layout a blast pattern within a perimeter to create a new set of drillholes.

This command lays out a blast pattern within a perimeter using a blast patterns file.

It is strongly advised that you add the attributes BENCH and BLAST. These attributes are required to use the move-blasthole-row and move-blasthole commands. Attributes can be added using the add-attributes command. The drillholes created will have the attribute values of the outline perimeter.

Command steps:

  1. Load a blast patterns file.

  2. Load or create closed string indicating the blast perimeter. It is not essential that this line is projected onto the wireframe surface but the elevation of the blast outline string is used as a reference level from which the holes are projected and will affect their precise location.

  3. Run the Command.

  4. Select a perimeter which defines the outline of the blast.

  5. Define a base line of the blast. Snapping is permitted.

  6. Confirm the X and Y location of the first hole using the Confirm Hole Coordinates screen.

  7. Select a pattern number from the patterns file and a prefix to be used for the holes created within this pattern.
