Description

Connects two strings, from the selected end-point of the first to the selected end-point of the second.

This command differs from connect-strings in that string point attributes are retained for both strings. To copy string attributes from the first selected string to the merged entity, use connect-strings.

How to Use

  1. Run the command. If a string is already selected, you will be prompted, from the message area of the status bar, to "Select selected string at the required end", otherwise the prompt "Select first string at the required end" is displayed.

  2. Follow the instructions provided - you will be asked to "Select other string at the required end". The two strings will be joined between the selected end points.

  3. If you wish to see the visual formatting of the independent strings on the combined object, you can use the String Properties dialog; Lines tab, Color by edge.

note.gif (1017 bytes) The connection made disregards the directions of the strings which the new segment being formed between the two string 'ends' identified. The "connected" string adopts the attributes of the first selected string.
If the two strings started as separate string objects, the second string will be incorporated into the first string object and removed from the second.

This command can be completed by double-clicking (or tapping) anywhere in a 3D window.
