Description

Generate contours from drillhole intercepts. Wireframes can also be generated.

A loaded desurveyed drillholes object is required to access this command. The input drillhole should contain at least one alphanumeric attribute that contains a distinct keyfield value representing the quality to be modelled (e.g. lithology or grade values). You can choose whether you wish to model the FROM (hanging wall) or TO (footwall) values.

The outputs from this command are (optionally) contours strings, an output grid model and/or an open wireframe surface.

This command uses the Generate Contours dialog to:

  1. Define the scope of contouring. Points data is mandatory, but you can optionally generate contours to consider additional (non-drillhole) points, fault strings and clipping polygons. This command works on selected data, or if none is selected of the given type, all of the data in the specified object is considered.
  2. Define the extents of your contouring by setting a minimum/maximum X and Y of the data hull (with an optional margin) and the resolution of the output grid.
  3. Set up your estimation/interpolation options, including an optional search ellipse for anisotropic cases.
  4. Configure how contour strings are created; define the lowest and highest values (and interval) and how/if you wish to set variable elevation for each contour based on an attribute
  5. Choose if you want to output a grid object (a block model)
  6. Choose if you want to output a surface between the contours
