Generating wireframe cones from selected drillhole or strings data |
Access this dialog as follows:
-
In the Command toolbar, run the cone-from-drillhole, or cone-from-string command.
-
Activate the Sample Analysis ribbon and select either Edit Drillholes | Cones or expand this menu to access the Cones from Strings command.
The Generate Cones dialog is used to generate a wireframe cone from selected drillhole or string data, and allows you to define its deviation per unit length, start radius and minimum segment length. It also allows you to define deviation and name fields, if required. The cone will begin at the start point of the drillhole or string - in the case of a drillhole, this is the collar position.
Field Details:
Generate Cones:
-
-
Deviation Per Unit Length: define a deviation distance per unit length of the drillhole (default '0.1').
-
Deviation Field (Optional): allows the deviation of the wireframe cone to be controlled for each individual segment of the drillhole or string. This enables you to take account of the effect of different materials on the drillhole.
-
Start Radius: allows you to define the radius of the top circle of the wireframe cone (default '0').
-
Minimum Segment Length: the smallest segment length for which new triangles are generated in the wireframe cone (default '0'). If a drillhole file contains small sample lengths, specifying a minimum segment length will prevent the creation of wireframes with a very large numbers of triangles.
-
Name Field (Optional): if a field in the drillhole or string file is defined, the associated value is copied from the drillhole to the resultant wireframe cone. This ensures that they can be differentiated and identified.
-
OK: generates a wireframe cone for the selected drillhole or string data using the parameters you specify.
Cancel: closes the Generate Cones dialog without generating wireframe cones.
