VR Object Properties Dialog

Creating and configuring VR Objects for use in the 3D window.

VR Object Properties

To access this dialog use one of the following:

  • In the Sheets control bar, 3D folder, right-click the VR Objects sub-folder, select New.

  • In the Sheets control bar, 3D folder, VR Objects sub-folder, right-click an object type, select Properties.

Before an object can be added to the VR Objects window, a VR Object Type needs to be created.

 

The Object Properties dialog is used to configure the name, object type, position, orientation and some simulation properties, for the selected object.

Field Details:

Name: Edit object name.

Edit object name: description of field 1 here - do not capitalize first word.

Position: Edit the X, Y or Z coordinates of the selected object.

Orientation: Edit the Yaw, Pitch and/or Roll of the selected object:

Attach to String:  attach the object to a string.

Start At:  time delay in seconds after which object will start to move .

Attach to Surface:  attach the object to a surface.

Add Name to Viewpoint List:  Display object name in the Sheets window (3D Window sub-folder).

Show Name in World: display object name in world view.

Camera Aligned:  keep the object pointing towards the user when moving around, in the project.

Other property settings can only be applied to all objects of a certain type (such as Speed, the Alignment Trace etc.) and these settings are configured using the Object Type Properties dialog.
