In the View From Outside mode the viewing movement are made relative to the selected 3D Object. As such, the actions of the navigation controls differ from Floating mode and some actions, like panning, are not available.

View Navigation Controls

The view navigation controls available, after View From Outside has been selected, are listed in the Fixed Viewpoint  + View From Outside section of the table on the navigation controls page.

To enter View From Outside mode, use one of the following methods:

  • In the Sheets control bar, VR Objects folder, right-click an object name, choose Outside View.

  • Using theViewribbon, select a 3D Object or fixed viewpoint from the Viewpoint list.

  • When Inside View mode is active, choose the View From Outside option using the 3D folder's right-click option.

If View From Outside has not previously been selected, your view position will move to the default View From Outside position - above and facing the front of the object. Selecting View From Outside subsequently will return you to the same position when View From Outside was last cancelled.

This view mode is cancelled when Floating View mode is selected, or a viewpoint is selected from the Viewpoint list, or when View From Inside is chosen for an object in the Sheets control bar.
