Scale Bar Properties Dialog

An explanation of fields and properties

 

To access this dialog use one of the following:

  • Select Insert | Plot Item |Scale Barusing theManageribbon (Plots window displayed).

The Scale Bar Properties dialog is used to define the various Scale Bar plot item properties.

 

Field Details:

Bars: tick this checkbox to display bars in the scale bar; clearing this box displays the scale as lines.

Filled: tick this box to display the bars as filled, alternating black-and-white bars (by default it is ticked when the Bars checkbox is ticked).

Ticks: tick this checkbox to display vertical ticks (they lie above the bars when the bars are displayed).

Labelled: tick this box to display tick labels.

Fixed Interval: tick this box to use the defined scale bar Interval value.

Interval: optionally define the scale bar's bar and tick interval width  (m or feet)*

Fixed Decimal Places: tick this checkbox to fix the number of decimal places displayed in the scale label using the defined Decimal Places value.

Decimal Places: check the default (3) or define a new value.

Scale Label: tick this checkbox to display the scale bar's scale.

Prefix: optionally enter a short scale label prefix e.g. a scale description.

Decimals: use the default value (0) or select a new value for the scale label's number of decimal places.

Suffix: optionally define a short scale label suffix e.g. scale units.

Height: define the height (mm or inches*) of the scale box.

Width: define the width (mm or inches*) of the scale box.

Reset: click this button to reset the dialog's parameters to the default settings.

Color: select a color from the color palette.

Font: click the button to display the Font dialog.

Opaque: tick this checkbox to make the displayed scale bar opaque; clear the check box make it transparent.
