Survey Import Module - File Menu

To access this screen:

  • Using the Home ribbon, click Survey Import >> Import Survey. Expand the File drop-down menu.

The Survey Import Module is used to import and manage survey station data and connect to survey equipment data.

The File menu contains utility commands:

  • Configuration: access import module settings:
    • Processing Options:
    • Mine Area Settings:
    • Surveyor Details:
  • Create Station DB: create an empty Datamine Station Database table containing the following fields:
    • STATION_ID: a unique identifier for the survey station. Alphanumeric up to 32 characters in length.
    • AREA_ID: a unique identifier for the pit area. This will typically match an area description in your Studio Survey database. Alphanumeric up to 32 characters in length.
    • XPT / YPT / ZPT: the 3D spatial (world) coordinates of the survey station.
    • DATE: a string describing the survey date.
    • SURVEYOR: the surveyor name associated with the survey.
    • METHOD: the surveying method used, either TPS (Total Station Positioning System) or GPS (Global Positioning System).
  • Import Stations: import station data in comma-separated-value (.csv) file into a Datamine Survey Station data file. First, select the Datamine file into which survey station information will be imported, then select the .csv file containing survey information.

    An example .csv file:

    ST1,A1,786040,6629224,424,11/03/2019,Jason Harrison,GPS

    Each separate value corresponds to an attribute in the Station Database file, e.g.:

  • Export Stations: export information stored in a Datamine Station Database file to .csv format. Select the the Datamine file containing station information, then specify a .csv file to contain the output in comma-separated format.
  • Exit:close the Survey Import Module and return to the Studio Survey application.
