Field Details

Output Format: select the output format that you want. Options are:

  • Leica DBX: use this format for the TS15 and 1200 series instruments that support the on board database

  • Leica GSI: use this for older instruments that only support the legacy GSI format’

  • FLD: use this opton to create an FLD format field file. This format is proprietary to the Survey Import Module.

If one of the above options is selected, you are provided with the following further options:

    • Input Data Type: select the type of input data to be uploaded to the instrument. Options are:

      • String File: use this option to upload points from a Datamine string file. Uploaded points are organised into lines in the DBX files. This permits you to select lines of points in the various onboard applications.

      • Station Database: use this option to upload survey station coordinates.

      • Digital Terrain Model: use this option to upload surface (DTM) data for use in the stakeout DTM and stakeout DTM & points on board programs.

    • Input Filename: select the input file as per the selected input type. This will either be a Datamine String file, Survey Station Database, or DTM file. In the case of uploading a DXF file you will be prompted to enter any number of string files and optionally a range of strings file these files,

    • Output Directory: select the output directory for the uploaded job. This would usually be the SD card reader attached to the computer.

    • Job Name: enter an identifying name for the uploaded data.

    • Use Job Name as a Directory: when uploading data to the DBX format the job name can be used as a folder name under the DBX directory on the card. Note that this option only works with the TS15 and not the 1200 series instruments.

  • DXF: use this option to upload a DXF file direct to the card. The DXF file can then be attached as a CAD file to your job on the instrument. If this option is selected, you will be provided with the following further table options:

    • String filename: enter or select the string file or files that you wish to convert to dxf for uploading

    • String range: you can specify a valid string range so that only certain strings in the nominate file are processed to DXF.

    • DXF output filename: name the DXF output file to be created on the card including the full path to the storage directory.

  • RefSet: you can create data suitable for use with the RefSet on board program by selecting the RefSet output format. If selected, the following options become available:

    • DBX file to card: select if you use an SD card to transfer data to the instrument. Set the default drive and directory to copy DBX files too.

    • GSI file to card: select if you use an SD card to transfer data to the instrument. Set the default drive and directory to copy GSI files too.

    • STR file to card: select if you use an SD card to transfer data to the instrument. Set the default drive and directory to copy string files too.

    • GSI file to PDA: select if you use RefSet on a PDA device. Set the default drive and directory to copy GSI files onto the PDA.

    • GSI file to PDA: select if you use RefSet on a PDA device. Set the default drive and directory to copy string files onto the PDA.
