Description

Erase the selected string(s) from memory.

How to use

  1. Run the command.

  2. If no string was selected before running the command, select individual (left or right-click) or drag a selection box over multiple strings.

    • When selecting the string for deletion, left-click or right-click, on or adjacent to the required string.
    • When preselecting strings i.e. before the command is run:

      •  Click on or adjacent to a string to select a single string

      • Use <Ctrl>+Click to select multiple strings individually

      • Click-and-drag a selection box across or around the required string to select multiple strings

    • Selecting an already selected string will deselect it.

  3. In the confirmation dialog click Yes.

    note.gif (1017 bytes) If the string(s) was selected before the command is run, clickingNowill cancel the command. The command needs to be rerun in order to continue erasing strings.  
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 in order to delete additional strings.

  5. Press <Esc> or click Cancel.

note.gif (1017 bytes) The selected string(s) is only deleted from the object in memory; no data is erased from the selected string object's file i.e. the *.dm system file. The strings object needs to be saved in order for the changes to be saved to file.
