Command Overview

Create a Section Definition file from strings intersecting the view plane.

This command takes a selection of strings and, for each string, computes a straight line drawn from where the first and last point are projected onto the current view.  For each such line, it then computes a section definition for a view plane perpendicular to the current view, passing through the two projected points.

The computed section definitions have azimuth and dip angles defined by the projected strings.  Their horizontal and vertical extent, and clipping distance are copied from the current view.

A screen displays to let you specify whether the sections are sorted from left-to-right or from right-to-left (in the current view) and whether computed sections are viewed from left-to-right or from right-to-left (Enter "LR" or "RL" as appropriate).

The screen also lets you name the first section (the SVALUE field). This value is automatically "incremented" (either numerically or alphabetically) for each computed section.

Note: Duplicate sections are ignored.
