Configure the Block Model Tab

The Block Model tab allows you to configure block model properties.

When you select a block model the data loader tries to determine the block model dimensions, which are displayed on the block model tab. For the data loader to do this it must have found (or you subsequently map during loading) at least X and Y coordinate columns, and an optional Z coordinate column.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Data Loader Component containing a block model from the Project Tree.
  2. Select the Data Loader tab at the bottom of the Main Canvas.
  3. Select the Block Model tab in the Property Panel.
  4. The following options can be viewed or configured as required.
    • Coordinates field group – Displays the minimum and maximum values for the block model. The values are determined from the centroids and the size of the block.
    • Block Count field group – Number of blocks in each direction.
    • Block Sizes field group – Block sizes for all block directions. If your block model has variable block sizes, then this section displays the largest found block size for each direction.
    • Options field group:
      • Get Dimensions – Determine the block sizes given the X, Y and Z columns and the optional XINC, YINC, and ZINC block size columns. This is done automatically when the data is loaded, but needs to be redone if you have changed relevant column mappings in the Column Definition table
      • Use Sparse Blocks – Do not store blocks that have no data.
    • Block sizes – All the block sizes found in the block model. If you do not use XINC, YINC, and ZINC block size columns then only one entry displays.
