Configure the Axes Tab

The 3D Axes tab defines the columns that are mapped to the X, Y, Z axes and the dimensions of the 3D window.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Data Component with associated 3D data from the Project Tree.
  2. Select the 3D Viewer tab at the top of the Main Canvas.
  3. Select the Axes tab in the Property Panel.
  4. Configure the following options as required.
    • NumShown – Number of data points displayed in the 3D Viewer.
    • NumTotal – Total number of data points.
    • Show column names on axes – Show the names mapped to the axes instead of X, Y and Z.
    • X column – Data column that is mapped to the X-axis.
    • X scaling – Multiply the X-axis values by this factor.
    • Y column – Data column that is mapped to the Y-axis.
    • Y scaling – Multiply the Y-axis values by this factor.
    • Z column – Data column that is mapped to the Z-axis.
    • Z scaling – Multiply the Z-axis values by this factor.
    • Set min/max to data extents – Set the dimensions of the 3D data window. By default, this is set to the extents of the 3D data.

Tip: If the data has changed then disabling and enabling the Set min/max to data extents check box resets the min and max values to the data.

    • Dimensions Table – The X, Y and Z Min and Max values of the 3D view. Only available when Set min/max to data extents is unchecked.
