Configure the Colour Tab
The 3D Colour tab is used to colour and filter data shown in the 3D window.
The Colour tab changes slightly when showing multiple data sources and displays the Data Sources table, which allows you to add, select, hide and show a 3D data source. It also allows you to control which columns are shown in the Column Definition Table, and how this affects colouring and filtering.
Activity Steps
- Select the Data Component with associated 3D data from the Project Tree.
- Select the 3D Viewer tab at the top of the Main Canvas.
- Select the Colour tab in the Property Panel.
- Configure the following options as required.
- Show colour table – Show the Colour Key table.
- Show all columns – Show all the data columns in the Column Table.
- Fix – Fix the data values. If fixed, the values display in bold italics. Fix data by double clicking it in the 3D window, and uncheck this setting to unfix, or double click in an empty part of the 3D window
- Colour – How the data values in the Column Table are coloured. Select from:
- Auto – Colour the value of the column that is coloured and the columns used in the filter (if defined).
- All – Colour all column values.
- Selected – Colour the column values which have been selected by checking the Colour column in the Column table.
- None
- Show shared columns – Only display columns that are shared by all data sources in the Column table. Only available if multiple data sources are selected.
- Column table – Shows the columns in the displayed data set and the values of the selected data object.
- Field column – Name of the data set's columns.
- Value column – Value of the column from the selected data object in the 3D window.
- Colour column – Check the columns to colour if the Colour property (as shown above) is set to Selected.
Tips:
Selecting a column in the Column table colours the displayed data using the column's associated colour key.
Double clicking a column displays the column's associated colour key.
- Colour Key table – Displays a row for each of the associated colour key's items.
- Data column – Name of the column changes to match the selected Field value in the Column table.
- Colour column – Colour of the colour key entry.
- Count column – If using categorical data, the number of data samples found with that unique value is displayed.
Tips:
Selecting entries acts as a filter. You can select multiple items by using the ctrl key, or the shift key.
Double clicking a column displays the column's associated colour key.
