Configure a Segment Model
The Segment Model tab allows you to set the upper/lower limit for simulated data values and the interpolation type (and parameter, if required).
Activity Steps
- Select the Segment Model (Lower Tail, Middle Segment or Upper Tail) from the Project Tree.
- Select the SegmentModel tab in the Property Panel.
- Configure the following options as required.
- Interpolation – Select a model to best fit your data from:
- PowerModel
- Linear
- Hyperbolic – Only applicable to upper tail models.
- Tabulated Quantiles – Unlocks the Tabulated Quantiles Settings section of the SegmentModel tab. Fill out the settings explained below.
- Parameter – Only available when Linear or PowerModel is selected as the Interpolation. This is most easily set by clicking and dragging the + symbol on the plot.
- Minimum/Maximum – The lower or upper limit of simulation vales. The name of this field varies depending on which segment model you are viewing.
Note: For an upper tail model, the limit must be greater than the maximum value in the dataset (SGS) or greater than the highest threshold (SIS). For a lower tail model, the limit must be less than the minimum value in the dataset (SGS) or less than the lowest threshold (SIS).
- Tabulated Quantiles Settings section – Only available when Tabulated Quantiles is selected as the Interpolation.
- Assay column index – Column index number in the file that contains the distribution to be used. The first field (or column) in the file has an index of 1, the second field has an index of 2 and this pattern continues throughout the file.
- Weight column index – The 1-based column for the weight in the text file. Specify 0 for none.
- File name – The file (space or comma delimited format) that contains the quantile information. These display as blue lines on the plot.
- Show threshold lines – Show thresholds from associated probability plot.
- Log grade – Show logarithmic scale.
- Interpolation – Select a model to best fit your data from:
- Select Log grade to apply a logarithmic scale to the model.
- Select Allow adjustment of thresholds to adjust thresholds in the Main Canvas.
- Click and drag a Threshold on the Segment Model in the Main Canvas to adjust it.
