Basic Statistics

After loading the data, Supervisor automatically generates the following plots for each domain:

  • Histograms – Plots of frequencies of values in a dataset. Histograms can be inserted under any set of data which contains only one assay type. They can be applied to an assay type containing one or more domains, a domain that is a subset of an assay type, or a domain which contains only one assay type. Histograms can also be inserted into conditional simulations, block models, reblocked models and model validations.
  • Probability Plots – Graphical representation of the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF). Probability plots can be used to assess the probability of being above or below a particular value or within a certain range.
  • Mean and Variance Plots – Used to assess the impact of applying a global assay top cut value. Averages, variances and coefficients of variation are calculated for the data above and/or below a series of grade values. These statistics are then plotted against the series of grades. The inflections of these graphs are used as a guide to selecting the topcut value.
