Set the Downhole Direction
When your data is not mapped to drillhole IDs, you have to model your downhole variogram in a specific direction to replicate the drillhole direction. The direction you choose should reflect the average orientation of the drilling. Alternatively, you can use stand-alone variograms to generate and model variograms for any user-defined direction, allowing you to investigate the mineralisation continuity in multiple directions.
Note: The downhole direction can only be manually set if most of the drillholes have the same dip and dip direction.
Activity Steps
- Select the Downhole Variogram (also called the Hole direction) from the Project Tree.
- Select the Update tab in the Property Panel.
- Enter the Dip and Dip Direction.
- Enter the Bandwidths and Angular Tolerances.
Note: It is recommended that you set small Bandwidths and Angular Tolerances so that sample pairs are more likely to be from the same drillhole.
