Cross Validation

Cross Validation components can be inserted beneath Continuity Models in the Project Tree. Cross validation provides an indication of how well a Continuity Model performs by comparing estimates produced using the model to the original sample values.

The Cross Validation component provides a scatter plot view of original sample values against estimates at each sample location. A Histogram sub-component is automatically added under the cross validation component node. When placed underneath a Continuity Model that incorporates a data transformation, the Cross Validation component automatically applies the same data transformation and is displayed in the relevant units.

Note: In the case of Indicator transformation, a single Cross Validation component is applied to each indicator threshold, rather than cross validation being performed simultaneously across all thresholds.

The image below shows an example of the Project Tree with a Cross Validation component inserted beneath a Continuity Models component.
