Create Sections

The Create Sections buttons opens the Create Sections window. With this tool, you can create single or multiple sections. Auto-Map Sections to predefined layers that exist in the your layer database, created by the D-Code Sequencer tool.

Activity Steps

  1. On the Common Tab, in the Sections group, click Create Sections, or enter the command ASEC_Def_Parallel. The Create Sections dialog box opens.

  2. Select whether to Auto-Map Sections. If checked, an information layer must be loaded.

    1. The Section Info Layer is automatically populated with the loaded information layer.

    2. The Section No. Format adjusts to the number of characters defined in your information layer.

    3. The Dimension Style can be adjusted to your preference.

  3. If Auto-Map Sections is left unchecked, define your Naming and Sequencing.

    1. Enter a Prefix if required.

    2. Enter a Suffix if required.

    3. Enter the 1st Name No. of your section name.

    4. Choose how many characters your section Increments by.

    5. Choose the length of characters in your section name by adjusting No. Char for Inc.

  4. Setup your Parameters.

    1. Select the No. Of Sections to create.

    2. Define the Distance Apart from each section.

    3. Choose whether to Reverse the Direction of the section.

    4. Enter the Tolerance of your back and front cut.

    5. Enter the Dump Angle of your section, or Pick a pivoting point.

    6. Enter the Pivot Elevation, or select a an elevation Point.

    7. Select whether to Use the 1st Define Point as a Pivot Point.

  5. Setup your Display Options.

    1. Select whether to Show Amine Name.

    2. Select whether to Show Cut Plane.

    3. Fast Join all the points into a polyline.

    4. Select Cut Now for all the sections to immediately cut.

    5. If you want to cut hidden objects, select Cut Hidden Face.

    6. Select whether to Generate Section Labels if you using Auto-Map Sections.

  6. Select Define Section to cut a single plane section, or select 3 Point Section to cut a multiple point section.

  7. Click Cancel to close the dialogue and not create any sections.
