Update Sample Options
The options for any given sample in a series can change as requirements evolve. Updates can be made to various parameters, including the number of replicates, the target initial measurement, the target final measurement, aliquot position, and the rack number. To permanently update any of these options for a sample in a series, modifications can be done through the menu options on the Client Job page. After the changes are made, the series can be saved as described in Save a Sample Batch as a Series. Samples can be assigned to multiple analyte schemes. While all samples in a batch typically inherit the analyte schemes in the client job, you can select specific schemes for samples that do not require all of them.
Some of these modifications can also be made when configuring the analysis code. For more information, see Configure Analysis Codes Options.
Activity Steps
- Load a Series for Modifications.
- Select the loaded batch code.
- Click Working View.
- On the Job Book, click Client Job.
- Select the Code you want to update.
-
Click Setup.
The Client Job Setup screen displays
-
Select the sample from the middle list.
-
Click the Edit Aliquot icon.
The Edit Analysis Sample screen displays.
-
Complete the following fields as required:
-
Replicate—Number of replicates to add to the laboratory job.
-
Target Initial Measurement—Target for the initial measurement entered in the laboratory job.
-
Target Final Measurement—Final target measurement prior to instrumental analysis.
-
Laboratory Job Dilution
-
Instrument Job Dilution—The dilution entered here will affect the results of all schemes in the run for the sample that is diluted.
-
Aliquot Position—Set the position for the sample in the laboratory job.
-
Rack Number—Set the number of rows in the laboratory job.
-
-
Repeat steps 7-9 to update additional samples.
-
To modify the analyte schemes assigned to samples:
-
Select the Sample ID from the middle list from which to remove the analyte.
-
Click the Remove Sample icon.
-
Select the Scheme or Schemes from Analyte Schemes list. You can press the Ctrl key to select all required schemes.
-
Select the previously removed Sample ID from the list to the left. If the sample ID does not appear in the list on the left (which displays all available sample IDs based on their assigned products), it may be because the sample has a different product assigned than the currently displayed product. To resolve this, select the appropriate Product to switch between the available products.
-
Select the Product if required.
-
-
Click the Add Sample icon.
The sample ID is added back to the client job with only the analyte schemes selected assigned.
-
Repeat steps 11 a-e to modify additional samples.
-
Alternatively remove all sample IDs by clicking the Remove all Samples icon and repeat steps 11 c-e.
Note: To assign specific schemes for samples, you must ensure that the Use Client Analyte for Setups option in the analysis code Instrument Run category is set to Yes. For more information consult AssayNet support.
-
-
Click OK.
Note: Ensure Working View is still active.
