Create a Sample Retest
The Configure a Sample Retest activity describes the initial configuration required to create a sample retest from the Result Summary screen in the Instrument Run page.
This activity describes the remaining configuration steps and how to generate a retest for the selected samples.
Activity Steps

The final Retest screen displays with field options enabled based on the selected Retest Type.

To change the behavior of all results in the run, in the Results Approval category, select from:
- Unapprove Results for Retest—Removes approval from the original results, allowing modifications before retesting.
- Hold Results for Retest—Keeps all retest results on hold, preventing them from being included in reports until the retest is completed.
- No Action—Leaves the original results unchanged, allowing the retest to proceed without affecting their status.

To edit the field options for the Re-Run category:

Set the fields in the top box to Create New Instrument Run.
Note: The other field options are currently unavailable.

To change the instrument assigned to the original run if required:
- Select Change the Instrument.
- Select the instrument from the newly enabled list.

Click Finish.
An AssayNet LIMS message confirms the retest creation and provides details about the new run job number and method used.

Click OK.
The Results Summary screen displays.

To edit the field options for the Re-Analysis category:

Set the fields in the middle box to Create New Laboratory Job.
Note: The Add to Existing Laboratory Job option is currently unavailable.

Select Create Run(s). If checked, AssayNet LIMS automatically creates an instrument run from the newly created laboratory job.

Click Finish.
An AssayNet LIMS message confirms the retest creation and provides details about the new lab job number and method used. If Create Run(s) is enabled, the new run job number also displays in the message.

Click OK.

To edit the field options for the Re-Test category:

To select a new package when required:
Note: The Re-Test option creates a new client job using the same packages originally assigned to the samples. Alternatively, a different set of packages can be selected.
- Select the Package.
- Click the right arrow to add the selected package.

To manually set options for the laboratory jobs and instrument runs in the new client job(s):

Select Set Options Manually. When selected, users can define options for new client jobs as required.

Select the following fields as required:
- Merge Analysis Codes—Merges all selected analysis codes into a single client job.
- Create Lab Jobs
- Use Lab Job Template—Uses the default laboratory job template in the analysis code. (Only enables if the Create Lab Jobs field is selected.
- Create Instrument Runs
- Use Run Template—Uses the default instrument run template in the analysis code. (Only enables if the Create Instrument Runs field is selected.
- Use All Package Schemes
- Print Control Cards—Prints the control card after retest creation.
Note: The Use Analysis Codes to Set Options selection applies the settings configured in the analysis code assigned to the samples.

- Click Finish.
