Instrument Runs

The final step in an analytical laboratory workflow is instrumental analysis, where the laboratory determines the concentration of analytes in samples. The instrument run is set up from one or more laboratory jobs, creating a unique ID and file that can be loaded into the instrument software. The file imported into the instrument is formatted based on client requirements.

An instrument run can also be created using a template, which provides a consistent structure for organizing samples, managing auto-positions for instruments with autosamplers, and adding control and calibration standards. For more information, see Add an Instrument Run Template.

AssayNet LIMS supports a variety of instrumental analysis products from different vendors while ensuring the integrity of data transfer to and from the instrument.

The LIMS captures data from the analytical instrument and performs specific analyte calculations based on initial measurements from the pre-analysis stage (if applicable). Results are then verified, and quality control is performed. For more information, see View and Approve Results.

Samples that do not meet quality control requirements can be sent for retesting directly from the instrument run results window. For more information, see Configure a Sample Retest. Once results are approved, reports can be generated and shared with the client.
