Add a Template to an Instrument
Unlike for balances, communication settings are not configured for analytical instruments. Instead, the data flow between the instrument and AssayNet LIMS is handled through the import template. This activity describes how to add the import template to an instrument and how to configure the automatic export of labels to the preset folder and import of the result from the preset folder.
This activity presumes you have created an import template for the instrument. For more information, see Configure an Import Template.
Activity Steps
-
On the Laboratory ribbon tab, click Instruments.
The Instrument screen displays.
-
Select the instrument and click Setup » Options.
The Edit Instrument screen displays in the General category.
-
In the Category field group, click Templates.
-
In the Export Labels category field group:
-
Select the Template used to configure the format and structure of the labels exported for the instrument.
-
Select Auto Import if required. If checked, the labels export to the folder specified in the import template.
-
-
In the Import Results category field group:
-
Select the Offline Template used to configure the structure of the output file from the instrument.
-
Select Auto Import if required. If checked, the system automatically looks for and imports the result files without manual input.
Note: Within the analysis codes configuration, there is an option that prompts the user to manually specify the file from which to import results, rather than allowing AssayNet LIMS to automatically locate the file.
