To use import and export templates:
Note:Template Options allow you to configure how AssayNet LIMS interacts with external analytical instruments by assigning instrument import templates. These templates define how sample labels are exported to a designated path and how results are imported back into the system. For more information, see Add an Import Template. You can choose to automatically export labels, automatically import results, or prompt the user to locate the result file manually.
- In the Import Results category group, complete the following fields as required:
- Offline Template—Assigns the configured import template that matches the structure of the output file from the instrument.
- File Name—AssayNet automatically locates and imports the results if all data is contained in a single file with a unique file name. To manually locate the file, click the folder icon.
- Prompt for File—If checked, AssayNet LIMS prompts you to locate the results file when the Data screen of the Instrument Run page is opened. For more information, see Import Instrument Run Data. This is generally the preferred choice, because most instruments export results into separate files rather than a single file for all results.
Note: Both the Template Options screen in the Analysis Code and the Template Options category in the Instrument configuration allow you to assign an import template. However, the template selected in the instrument configuration takes priority. When importing results, the system first checks for a template assigned in the instrument. If a template is found, it uses that; if not, it defaults to the template specified in the Template Options of the Analysis Code. For more information on the instrument template, see Add a Template to an Instrument.
- In the Export Results category group, complete the following fields as required:
- Template—Assigns the configured import template with the format and structure of the labels exported for the instrument.
- Export File Name—Enter or locate the name of the single file where all labels will be exported. Generally, all labels are exported to a single file with the run ID as the file name, unless the Export File Name is entered.
- Auto Export—If checked, AssayNet LIMS automatically saves the label file in the location specified in the import template.
- In the Import Results category group, complete the following fields as required:
- Click OK.
