Add an Instrument

This activity outlines the process for adding any type of instrument to AssayNet LIMS, including balances, microbalances and analytical instruments. It ensures proper configuration for seamless integration, communication and data management within the laboratory system.

This activity presumes that instrument types are available. For more information, see Add Instrument Types.

Activity Steps

1. On the Laboratory ribbon tab, click Instruments.

   The Instrument screen displays.

   1. Click New.

      The Add Instrument screen displays.

   2. Complete the following fields as required:

      • Type

      • Code

      • Name

      • Manufacturer

      • Vendor

      • Telephone

      • Model

      • S/N—The serial number of the instrument, used to uniquely identify it in AssayNet LIMS.

      • Software—The software associated with the instrument, if any.

      • Service Contract

      • Capacity—The capacity of the instrument in terms of the number of samples.

      • Active—Specifies whether the instrument is active.

   3. Click OK.
