Link the Workstation with the Instrument

In AssayNet LIMS, a workstation refers to the specific computer used in the laboratory, identified by a designated name. Linking an instrument to a workstation ensures direct communication between the computer and the instrument, enabling accurate data transfer.

This activity assumes that the necessary instruments are available to link to the workstation. For more information, see Add an Instrument.

Activity Steps

  1. On the Laboratory ribbon tab, click Workstations.

    The Workstation screen displays with the current workstation selected.

  2. Click Edit.

    1. Complete the following fields as required.

      • Workstation ID—A unique identifier for the workstation, typically a numeric or alphanumeric code.

      • Workstation Name—The designated name of the workstation for identification within the system.

      • Instrument—The instrument linked to the workstation.

      • Storage Location—The physical or logical location where data or samples associated with this workstation are stored.

      • Import Template—The template used to import data from the workstation.

      • Local Drive—Specifies the local drive on the workstation for storing or accessing data.

      • Remote Drive—Specifies the remote drive or network location associated with the workstation for data access or storage.

      • User Name—The username required for logging into the workstation or accessing associated network resources.

      • Password—The password corresponding to the username for authentication purposes.

  3. Click OK.
