Configure the server connection
Set the server address and database before the first sign-in. The connection settings are saved on the device, are used for every sign-in, and remain in place after the application restarts.
The settings can be changed at any time without reinstalling the application.
Activity steps:
-
Open the application.
The sign-in screen displays.
-
Tap Server settings.
The Connection settings screen displays. After you sign in, the same screen is available from Settings > Connection > Connection settings.
-
Enter the Server address of the AssayNet LIMS REST application programming interface (API); for example,
https://lims.client.com:8088.Note: The Change login server? message displays when the address is changed. Your user name and password are sent to this server at sign-in, so continue only with an address supplied by your administrator.
-
Select the Database.
The list of databases comes from the server. If the list is empty, tap the reload icon beside the field to request it again.
Note: The message Database choices could not be loaded means the server did not answer. Check the server address and the device network connection, and then reload the list.
-
Enter the Device name if required.
This value is recorded against submittal updates as the workstation identifier. Leave the field blank to use the name set on the device, or the device model when no name is set.
-
Select the Default app: Sample Tracking or Sample Login.
This workspace is selected for you on the sign-in screen, and is the workspace that opens when the device is offline.
-
Select whether to Accept this server certificate. Default: cleared.
Warning: Accepting the certificate weakens connection security and can expose your credentials. Use it only for an HTTPS address that your administrator has confirmed. The exception applies only to the exact server address and port that is configured here.
-
Tap TEST CONNECTION.
The result states whether the server is reachable, cannot be reached, or presented a certificate that is not trusted.
-
Tap SAVE.
The settings are stored on the device. You can now sign in. See Sign in to AssayNet Mobile.
