Request a Repeat Analysis for Sample Scheme Analytes

Use this activity to request a repeat analysis for sample scheme analytes.

Restrictions on Requesting a Repeat Analysis

If that the ALLOW_SET_REPEAT application preference is defined and selected, when you attempt to request a repeat analysis, then the action proceeds.
If that the ALLOW_SET_REPEAT application preference is not defined, or is defined and is not checked, when you attempt to request a repeat analysis, then the action does not proceed.

Activity Steps

1. Access the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation screen.
2. Enter the relevant search criteria on the Primary Criteria tab and/or the Scoped Criteria tab and click Search Samples.

   Samples that match the criteria display in the upper Sample grid. Note that the Sample grid cannot be updated directly.

3. Select a sample row in the upper Samples grid, for a sample that is validated.

   Sample scheme analyte results associated with the sample display in the lower Analytes grid.

4. On the lower Analytes grid, select the rows where the Workflow Status is not NST (Not Started) for each sample scheme analyte result that is repeated.
5. Click Request Repeat.

   If the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Analysed, Released, Completed or Check, then the sample scheme analyte's Numeric Final Value is cleared and Workflow Status is reset to Repeat. If the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Not Started, Listed Not Received, Insufficient Sample, Not Analysed, No Result or Repeat, then no change occurs.

   The system returns a message to indicate the outcome of the action:
   • Where all selected sample scheme analytes have repeat analysis successfully requested: "Action completed successfully."
   • Where only some of the selected sample scheme analytes have repeat analysis successfully requested: "Action partially completed successfully."
   • Where a selected sample scheme analyte fails to have a repeat analysis requested: "Sample [<Sample_Name>] Scheme [<Scheme_Code>] Analyte {<Analyte_Code>] cannot be repeated."
   • Where no selected sample scheme analytes have repeat analysis successfully requested: "No changes have been made."

6. Click Submit.

   The changes made during the validation session are saved.

   Where a sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Repeat, when a Numeric Final Result is entered for an analyte with a Code of WEIGHT or VOLUME in a weight/volume workbook session, then the weight or volume is propagated any analytes with a code of WEIGHT or VOLUME in linked sample schemes, and any analyte in the current and linked sample schemes where its Numeric Final Value is empty has its Weight or Volume property set accordingly.
