Promote production jobs to use the latest scheme versions
Use this activity to promote production jobs to the latest scheme versions.
When org-scope entities are promoted, they are linked to the highest published version of a scheme. When lab-scope entities are promoted, they are linked to the highest published version of the scheme that is available to the laboratory. This means that where the entity links to an enabled-scope scheme version, it is linked to the highest published version of the scheme THAT IS ENABLED by the laboratory.
Prerequisite to Promote a Production Job
The production job must have the following conditions to be promoted:
- The job must be of workflow status of Registered or Not started.
- The production job cannot be lab batched.
- The job cannot be opened to another user (e.g. opened in Workbook).
Conditions on Promoting Fields in a Production Job
When an attempt is made to promote a production job, then the dialog displays the possible list of fields from the Job Scheme, Job Scheme Analyte, Sample Scheme and Sample Scheme Analyte records that are potentially promotable. The fields contained in the comma-separated list of fields defined by the PRODUCTION_PROMOTION_OVERRIDE_LIST application preference are checked by default. Where a field is checked, then the field value is retained upon promotion.
Activity Steps
- Access the CCREGN—Job application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCREGN—Search Job screen.
- Select the Job Type—Production
- Set the Promotable Jobs Only check box—Checked
- Enter other relevant search criteria and click Search. (All codes, enumerations and Job Name fields are case-sensitive for searching.)
Jobs that match the criteria display in the grid.
- On the search results grid, select one or more template jobs, and click the Promote grid flow option.
The Promote to latest scheme version dialog box displays all fields that can potentially be overridden. Defaults are set using the PRODUCTION_PROMOTION_OVERRIDE_LIST application preference.
- Check any fields whose values are to be retained.
- Click OK.
The production jobs are promoted to contain the latest scheme version, such that, those fields that are retained remain unchanged, and those fields that are not to be retained are updated from the latest published scheme version.
