Processes associated with this form
Screen flows
- Submit—Validate and save the changes.
- Refresh—Reload the original data. Any changes made since the last submit are lost.

Load from Scanner—Load portions whose bar codes are scanned, to easily update portion data without the need for manual entry.

Containerise Job—Containerise portion of a job and optional type of single-capacity container type into a container of a selected multi-capacity container type.

Update Laboratory Portions—Update the laboratory portions that are required for the samples, based upon the distinct list of container types associated with the schemes registered on the samples.

Load from File—Load portions using details contained within a file.

Mode
The mode for interacting with portions:

SEARCH Portions on Submit—Search for portions using the entered criteria and return the results to the portions grid.

CREATE Barcode Portions on Submit—Create portions on submit using the Location Code, Sample Handling Code, Single-capacity Container Type Code and Notes entered in the Creation/Update Details section.

UPDATE Barcode and Searched Portions on Submit—Update portions on submit for those fields where the is selected, including the Location Code, Sample Handling Code, Single-capacity Container Type Code and Notes entered in the Creation/Update Details section.

Bar Code
Search portions by a bar code identification. Where the Mode is selected as UPDATE Barcode Portions on Submit, then the Bar Code must contain the identification of the jobs and samples for the portion detail update.

Client Names
Search portions by the name of the client associated with a portion. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCCLNT—Search Client screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Scheme Code
Search portions by code of an associated scheme. A scheme may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active schemes in scope, as configured in the CCSCHM—Scheme application. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCSCHM—Search Scheme screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Product Codes
Search portions by the code of the product for a sample associated with a portion. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCPRDT—Search Product screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Portion Type
Search portions by the type:

All—Portions originating either from the client or generated in-house, or those portions generated in the laboratory based upon scheme requirements.

Laboratory—Potions generated in the laboratory based upon scheme requirements.

Disposal Sample Handling Codes
Search portions by the associated disposal sample handling code. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCSHND—Search Sample Handling screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Location Codes
Search portions by a code of an associated location. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. Each location's hierarchy precedes its location code. The list is filterable using % and _ wildcards. Refer to Using the Screen Interface. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCLCTN—Search Location screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Hazard Codes
Search portions by the code of an associated hazard. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCHZRD—Search Hazard screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Check In On
Search portions by the date-time at which a portion was check into the current location. Select start and end dates from the calendars, and a date range option: Between, Any, Null or Delta.

Checked In By
Search portions by the code of the user who checked the portion into the current location.

Single Capacity Container Type Codes

Search portions by the code of the single-capacity container type associated with a portion. This field allows multiple entries. Select one of the options from the list, and click the icon to display all the selected options. A container type may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active container types in scope with a Capacity Type of Single, as configured in the CCCNTP—Container Type application. Include Cancelled Job
Indicates whether to include cancelled jobs in the search. By default, cancelled jobs are not returned from a search.

Creation/Updated Details
Details that are applied to portions when they are created or updated. A field in this section must have its check box checked for an update to apply the field's value. Only applicable where the Mode is selected as CREATE Barcode Portions on Submit or UPDATE Barcode Portions on Submit.

Update Portion Type
Only shown where Mode is UPDATE Barcode and Searched Portions on Submit.
The type of portion that is included in an updated:

All—Portions originating either from the client or generated in-house, or those portions generated in the laboratory based upon scheme requirements.

Location Code

A location may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active locations in scope, as configured in the CCLCTN—Location application. Each location's hierarchy precedes its location code. The list is filterable using % and _ wildcards. Refer to Using the Screen Interface. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCLCTN—Search Location screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.
Where Mode is UPDATE Barcode Portions on Submit, then the check box next to the field must be selected for the update to be applied.
Note: A portion's location cannot be cleared. If the intention is to assign the portion to a disposed or end-of-life status, use a location that represents that.

The code of the sample handling applied when a portion is created or updated. A sample handling action may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active sample handling actions in scope, as configured in the CCSHND—Sample Handling application. Single-capacity Container Type Code
Only shown where Mode is CREATE Barcode Portions on Submit or UPDATE Barcode and Searched Portions on Submit.
The code of the single-capacity container type, that is, a container type with a Capacity Type of Single, applied when a portion is created or updated. A container type may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active container types in scope with a Capacity Type of Single, as configured in the CCCNTP—Container Type application. Click the field hyperlink to display the CCCNTP—Search Container Type screen, select the appropriate value and click Select and Return to populate the field with the selected value.

Grid flows
- Export to Report—Report selected records from the search display grid. Available report templates are defined by the SEARCH_REPORT_<ApplicationName> application preference.

Apply—Apply the updates to portions.

Delete—Delete the selected portions.

Containerise—Display the Containerise dialog box, to specify the multi-capacity container type to containerise the selected portions.

Decontainerise—De-containerise the selected portions, which effectively clears the Multi-capacity Container Type Code and Multi-capacity Container Name for a portion.

Row Number
The row number in the grid. Display only. Hidden on the grid by default, but added by showing individual grid items.

Laboratory Code
The code of the laboratory associated with the portion. Display only.

Job Name
The name of the job linked to the sample associated with the portion. Display only.

As Registered (Default)—A portion of sample that originates from the Client. A preparation facility can split additional As Registered portions from an initial As Registered portion submitted from a client.

Laboratory—A portion of sample, usually split from an As Registered portion, and used for a specific test or tests on the sample.

Scheme Codes
A comma-separated list of scheme codes registered on the sample, where the portion is associated with the sample schemes. Display only.

Active
Indicates whether the sample portion is active for use. When cleared, this often means that the sample portion is off-site or disposed. Display only.

Location Code
The code of the location associated with the portion. Display only.

Location Hierarchy
The hierarchical location associated with the portion. Display only.

Location Name
The name of the location associated with the portion. Display only.

Checked In Date
The date-time at which the portion was checked into the location. Display only.

The code of the user who checked the portion into the location. Display only.
