Maintain samples
To search for samples within the context of a job:
- Open the job to display the CCREGN—Job Detail screen.
- Select the Samples tab to display the job's samples, ordered in ascending order by the sample's Registration Sequence.
To search for samples outside the context of a job:
- Access the CCSAMP—Sample application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCSAMP—Search Sample screen.

Select the Scope, Archive Status and Job Type search criteria on the Primary Criteria tab.
Tips:

The available biofields for the Biofield Code search criteria on the Biofields tab are filtered by those with org-scope that have either no line of business defined, or a line of business matching one of the laboratory's lines of business, or by those with lab-scope.

Cancelled samples are excluded by default in search results. To return cancelled samples in the search results set, include Cancelled in the Workflow Status criteria and select Include Cancelled Samples. Where selected, then the Job Cancelled date range criteria becomes available on the Sample Dates tab. Where cleared, then any selection of Cancelled in the Workflow Status criteria is ignored. Refer to Cancelling Jobs for limitations placed on cancelled jobs and samples.

Select a Sort Order on the Primary Criteria tab to order the sample search results set by a specific job or sample field, or leave the field empty to order the sample search results set by a samples' Job Code, Registration Sequence and Sample Code.

Enter other relevant search criteria and click Search to display samples that match the criteria.
Note: All codes, enumerations and Job Name fields are case-sensitive for searching.
To export samples to a report:
- Search for samples either within the context of a job or outside the context of a job.
- Select the check box in the first column of each sample to be included in the report, or leave all samples unselected to include all samples in the report.
- Click Export to report on the grid to generate the grid report document.
Note: Until a search is performed, the Export to Report option is not available, and if any search criteria are updated the Export to Report option is not available until a search is performed.
During this process, the screen is greyed out and the Generating the Report notification widget appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. When the server finishes generating the report, the screen returns to normal and the notification widget is updated so the report can be downloaded.
To update a sample/s:

To update multiple samples:

Search for samples within the context of a job.

Select the samples to be updated and click Update Multiple Samples to display the CCSAMPMULTIEDIT—Multiple Sample Detail screen.

To update a single sample:

Search for samples either within the context of a job or outside the context of a job.

Open the sample to display the CCSAMP—Sample Detail screen.
Note: The screen displays read-only if read-write security permissions are not granted.

- To update primary details:
- Select the Primary Details tab.
- Update the Client Sample Name and Description, as required.
- If Primary Analytical Type is Duplicate, Replicate, Blank, Standard or Spike, then select the Primary QC Type Code, as required.
- Select the Secondary Analytical Type and Secondary QC Type Code, as required.
- If the Primary Analytical Type or Secondary Analytical Type is Blank, Standard or Spike, select a Standard Code and Standard Lot Code.
- Select Sample Type Code and Sample Point Code.
- Select Sampled On, Sampling Started On and Sampled By, as required.
- To update the expected number of sample portions for a sample:
- Notice the Number of Containers.
- Select the Portions tab to see that the default sample portions defaults to the Number of Containers.
- Select the Primary Details tab again.
- Enter the required Number of Containers and Delivered By, as required.
- Enter Priority and Received On, or enter Required On.
- Select whether to Include in Job QC.
- Select whether to Auto-validate Sample.
- Select whether to Generate Label.
- Select whether to Generate Paperwork.
- Select whether the sample is Reportable.
- Select whether the sample is Invoiceable.
- Select whether to Include in costs.
- To enter sample notes:
Select the Notes tab.
Update Registration Notes, Analysis Notes or Report Notes.
Format entered text using the toolbar. HTML formatted text can be pasted from one CCLAS rich text notes field into another rich text notes field, such that, the formatting is preserved.
To insert a Canned Comment, click F2 to display the Select Canned Comment dialog box.
Select the default or another Canned Comment Type and Canned Comment Subtype.
Select an optional Category Code to filter the Canned Comment Code drop-down list by the selected category.
Enter or select Canned Comment Code from the drop-down list to embed the canned comment long form content into the note field. Note that Cancel can be clicked at any time to exit canned comment selection.
- Click Submit.
To delete a sample/s:

Either, access a sample via the job:

Access the CCREGN—Job application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCREGN—Search Job screen.

Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search to display jobs that match the criteria.

Open the required job to display the CCREGN—Job Detail screen.

Select the Samples tab to display the job's samples.

Click
at the beginning of the row containing the sample to be deleted. -
Click Submit.

Or, access a sample via a sample search:

Access the CCSAMP—Sample application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCSAMP—Search Sample screen.

Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search to display the samples that match the criteria.

Open the required sample to display the CCSAMP—Sample Detail screen.

Click Delete to display the Confirm Delete dialog box.

Click Confirm.
