Maintain Linked Schemes for a Scheme

Use this activity to maintain linked schemes for a scheme.

When configuring linked schemes:

  • A scheme with a Scheme Type of Sample Preparation can only have a linked scheme that has a Scheme Type of Sample Preparation.

  • A scheme with a Scheme Type of Analytical Preparation or Analytical can only have a linked scheme that has a Scheme Type of either Analytical Preparation or Analytical.

  • A scheme with precursor schemes can only be a linked scheme with another scheme that has the same set of precursor schemes.

Note: This is only applicable for org-scope and lab-scope schemes; it does not apply to lab-enabled org-scope schemes. Although linked scheme relationships can be updated (added, deleted) for enabled-scope schemes, when sample scheme and job scheme records are created, the link scheme relationships are taken from the org-scope scheme.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCSCHM—Scheme application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCSCHM—Search Scheme screen.
  2. Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search.

Schemes that match the criteria display in the grid.

  3. Open the required scheme to display the CCSCHM—Scheme Detail screen.
  4. Select the Linked Schemes tab.

To add a linked scheme to the scheme:

  1. Click Lookup CCSCHM to display the CCSCHM—Search Scheme screen.
  2. Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search.

Schemes that match the criteria display in the grid.

  3. Select the required schemes.
  4. Click Select and Return.

The schemes are added as linked schemes.

  5. Click Submit.

The linked scheme relationship is added, such that, from now on, when the scheme and a linked scheme are both registered on a sample, then a link relationship is established between the two sample schemes, and and between the two job schemes also when they are created.

Note: Creating a linked scheme relationship does not retro-link existing sample schemes and job schemes, but only affects future registrations.

A job scheme link relationship forces both job schemes to be processed as linked schemes during an append or overwrite QC process for a job scheme in the CCREGN—Job application, such that, each job scheme shares the same rack layout.

A sample scheme link relationship forces weights and volumes to be propagated into the sample scheme analytes of a linked sample scheme.

To remove a linked scheme from the scheme:

  1. Select the schemes in the grid to be deleted.
  2. Click Submit.

The linked scheme relationship is removed. This does not update existing link relationships between sample schemes, or existing link relationships between job schemes, but effects sample schemes and job schemes created after this point.
