Conditions for Auto-creation of a Scheme Limits Specification

When a scheme that has a Scheme Type of Analytical Preparation or Analytical is created, where the SCHEME_AUTO_CREATE_LIMITS_SPEC application preference is:

  • Defined and is checked and a specification exists that has the same Scope and Code as the scheme and a Specification Type of Scheme, then the specification is linked to the scheme.
  • Defined and is checked, and a specification exists that has the same Code as the scheme but not the same Scope or Specification Type of Scheme, then you are given a message that the scheme could not be linked to the specification due to the different specification type or scope.
  • Defined and is checked, and a specification does not exist that has the same Scope and Code as the scheme or Specification Type of Scheme, then a specification with the same Scope, Code, Name and Description as the scheme and a Specification Type of Scheme is automatically created, and linked to the scheme.
  • Not defined, or is defined and is cleared, then the scheme is not automatically linked to a specification.
