Invoice Amounts
When invoices are returned from a search, the WIP Amount, Estimate Amount, Invoice Amount Incl Tax and Invoice Amount are displayable on the search results grid, and are included in the record set when the search results are export to a report.
An invoice search or financial report search allows for a Display Currency criteria. When this is selected as Invoice (default), then the search results display the amounts in the invoice's Currency, and when selected as Laboratory, then the search results display the amounts by applying the exchange rate between the invoice's currency and laboratory's currency, which was set on the invoice when it was priced using the exchange rates configured in the MSECUR—Currency application, and displays the amounts in the laboratory's Currency.
WIP Amount
The WIP Amount is the work-in-progress amount of a:
- Proposal invoice
- Production invoice
- Production job cost.
The WIP Amount is produced using WIP-type calculations, and:
- Includes the applied surcharges, rebates, miscellaneous line items and discount
- Excludes taxes
- Does not vary if the invoice is edited and line items are edited, added or removed, as the amount is determined by the pricing engine by just looking at the related job data
- Displays for any invoice status
- Is hidden by default on the search results grid.
Estimate Amount
The Estimate Amount is the estimated amount of a:
- Proposal invoice
- Production invoice
- Production job cost.
The Estimate Amount is produced using estimate-type calculations, and:
- Includes the applied surcharges, rebates, miscellaneous line items and discount
- Excludes taxes
- Does not vary if the invoice is edited and line items are edited, added or removed, as the amount is determined by the pricing engine just by looking at the related job data
- Is displayed for any invoice status.
Invoice Amount Incl Tax
The Invoice Amount Incl Tax is the grand total of a:
- Proposal invoice
- Production invoice
- Credit note.
The Invoice Amount Incl Tax is produced using estimate-type calculations, and:
- Includes the applied surcharges, rebates, miscellaneous line items and discount
- Includes taxes
- Varies if the invoice is edited and line items are edited, added or removed
- Is displayed only when the invoice status is draft or beyond
- Is hidden by default on the search results grid.
Invoice Amount
The Invoice Amount is the grand total, less tax, of a:
- Proposal invoice
- Production invoice
- Credit note.
The Invoice Amount is produced using estimate-type calculations, and:
- Includes the applied surcharges, rebates, miscellaneous line items and discount
- Varies if the invoice is edited and line items are edited, added or removed
- Excludes taxes
- Is displayed only when the invoice status is draft or beyond.
WIP-type Calculations
For a WIP invoice-style using WIP-type calculations, the following rules are applied to determine whether work is done, and therefore included in the WIP invoice:
- The sample's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample's Date Validated is stamped.
- The sample scheme's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample scheme's Workflow Status is Completed.
- The sample scheme analyte's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is No Result or Completed.
Estimate-type Calculations
For an estimate invoice-style using estimate-type calculations, the following rules are applied to determine whether work is either done or still can be done, so therefore included in the estimate invoice:
- The sample's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample's Workflow Status is Registered, Not Started, Started, Analysed, Released or Completed (and the Date Validated is stamped or unstamped).
- The sample scheme's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample scheme's Workflow Status is Not Started, Started, No Result, Analysed, Released or Completed.
- The sample scheme analyte's Is Invoiceable is selected and the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Not Started, Repeat, Check, No Result, Analysed, Released or Completed.
