Maintaining Ident Rules
Overview
Ident rules are used to determine the job, sample type, sample ident, external sample ident, sample description and/or sample product from a sample code string. Ident rules are typically used in the situation where a sample received by the laboratory is identified by a sample code comprising one string of descriptive information. The sample code is decoded based on a set of ident rules to determine the full sample details.
Ident rules are useful where a laboratory receives unregistered samples, in which case, registration is configured to occur automatically using a script that takes these Ident rules into consideration.
This process is pertinent to LIMS configuration personnel who configure CCLAS for use in the laboratory.
