Maintain analytical limits for a quality control type scheme

To search for schemes associated with a quality control type:

  1. Click Method in the CCLAS EL menu or run the Scheme.exe application in the Exe folder to display the Scheme Form.
  2. Select a QC codes » BLK » Quality Control code or QC codes » STD » Quality Control code node to view the schemes associated with the quality control type.
  3. Review or update a quality control type scheme to display the QcontrolEdit Form.

To search for analytes of the quality control type scheme:

  1. Select the Details tab and select the current quality control type scheme in the Folder Items list.

To create an analyte for the quality control type scheme:

  1. Click New to display the QCAddNew Form.
  2. Select the Analyte code.
  3. Select the Unit code for the limits. The unit should preferably be the same as the unit code used for analysis of this analyte. If the unit is not the same, then it is not possible to generate a plot in the QC application. The default is the analysis unit for the scheme, current version, and analyte.
  4. Click OK to create the quality control type scheme analyte and open the QcontrolAnalyteEdit Form to update the limits for the quality control type scheme analyte details, as required, or click Cancel to not proceed.

To review the limits for a quality control type scheme analyte:

  1. Double-click an Analyte Code to open the QcontrolAnalyteEdit Form.

To update the limits for a quality control type scheme analyte:

  1. Double-click an Analyte Code to open the QcontrolAnalyteEdit Form to update the entity, as required.
  2. Click Save to close the form and save the changes, or click Close to close the form.

To set limits for a quality control type scheme analyte:

  1. Enter the Expected value.
  2. To enter absolute limits:
    1. Check the Use absolute tolerance check box.
    2. Enter the lower limit in Tolerance 1.
    3. Enter the upper limit in Tolerance 2.
  3. To enter relative limits:
    1. Uncheck the Use absolute tolerance check box.
    2. Enter the failure limit in Tolerance 1.
    3. Enter the warning limit in Tolerance 2. The warning limits are calculated as 1.96/3.09 of the failure limit, which equates to 95% confidence of the expected value.

To update Tolerance 1 based upon statistics held on the scheme, latest version, and analyte:

  1. Click the << button to update Tolerance 1 based upon statistics held on the scheme, latest version, and analyte.
    • Tolerance 1 = SVA's Statistical detection limit / Expected value x 100 + SVA's Limiting repeatability

To delete a quality control type scheme analyte:

  1. Click Delete.
