Holes

For a list of all hole properties, see Hole Properties.

You can customise the Viewport colour of hole collars, rings and text in the colour map. See Configure Colours.

Complete Design Properties

The following diagram illustrates the complete design properties of a blast hole.

The setout collar is derived from a survey or the drill navigation system. The setout collar is important if the design drill bench surface is different from the actual drill bench surface.

The design charge toe is the target for charging.

The design drill toe is the target for drilling.

The difference between the design charge toe and the design drill toe is overdrill.

Many operations do not perform an overdrill and backfill operation. In that situation, the overdrill length is zero and the design charge toe and the design drill toe have the same location.

If the drill navigation system is absent or does not recalculate a planned collar, the design collar is used in the Drill Module as the target.

Typical Design Properties

The following diagram illustrates the more typical design properties of a blast hole.

For operations utilising a standoff rather than a subgrade (for example, surface coal) the following diagram is more typical. A positive standoff is the same as a negative subgrade.
