Hole Properties
Completed holes have over 100 properties assigned in different groups. These include a range of design properties and measured or as-built properties.
You can also define Custom Properties for holes.
To display the properties of a hole, display the hole pattern in the Viewport and select the hole.

Hole
Hole properties indicate the associated patterns and block, and the display properties for the hole.

Blast Pattern |
Blast pattern to which the hole belongs. Read-only. A blast pattern is a group of holes that belong to any charge pattern. Use a blast pattern to group holes from separate charge patterns so that the holes can be blasted at the same time. |
Charge Pattern |
Charge pattern to which the hole belongs. Read-only. A charge pattern is a group of holes with the same drill diameter that belong to any drill pattern. Use a charge pattern to group holes that be charged in the same way. A charge pattern can only have one charge rule. |
Collar Appearance |
Displayed icon at the collar of the hole. Select from a range of icons. Use the collar appearance to indicate a different property of the hole; for example, the hole collar angle. |
Collar Flag Colour |
Colour of the hole collar flag, which is an additional circle drawn at the collar of a hole. Enter a colour name or click the drop-down arrow to display a colour picker. Use a collar flag to indicate that a different action is required for the hole; for example, if the hole needs to be a probe hole. |

Hole ID |
Hole ID applied at the site; for example, A01. Read-only. Important: Holes within a single drill pattern must have unique site IDs. This site ID is not the same as the hole ID in the database, which is unique by design. |
Hole Label Rotation |
Rotation of the hole label text next to the hole collar, in degrees. Editable. |
Hole Requires Inhibited Charge |
Whether the hole is hot or reactive, which means that it can only be charged with inhibited products. Read-only. |
Initiation Pattern |
Initiation pattern to which the hole belongs. Read-only. An initiation pattern is a group of holes belonging to any blast pattern or charge pattern. Use an initiation pattern to group holes for initiation sequencing. |
Is Abandoned |
Whether the hole is abandoned. Read-only. An abandoned hole is no longer intended for drilling, dipping, charging or timing. As-built data can still be added to an abandoned hole. |

Comments added when entering load data via . Read-only. |
Mine Block |
Mine block to which the hole belongs. Use the mine block to specify domains of planning or geological regions in the mine; for example, North Cut-back 3 or High Grade Ore. |
Reactive Hole |
Reactive ground describes geology that undergoes spontaneous exothermic reactions when exposed to air or nitrates. A hole is reactive if it intersects this geology. To change this property, see Change the Reactive Status of Holes. |
Reporting Pattern |
Reporting pattern to which the hole belongs. Read-only. A reporting pattern is a grouping of holes for purposes other than that used by drill patterns, charge patterns, blast patterns or initiation patterns. For example, use a reporting pattern to group holes from multiple drill patterns that were previously 'cut-off'. |
Text Offset Factor (Left) |
Hole labels in the Viewport can be on the left or right of the collar icon. This text offset factor describes the distance between the left hole label text and the hole collar. A larger number offsets the label further away from the collar icon. Editable. |

Design
The design properties of a hole are created when editing a drill pattern in the Design Module or are imported from a .csv file. See File Formats. For diagrams illustrating these properties, see Holes.

Hole ID applied at the site; for example, A01. |
Mine Block |

Distance between the design charge toe and the design drill toe. Read-only. |
Setout Angle |
Hole angle to meet the design toe from the setout collar. |
Setout Bearing |
Hole bearing to meet the design toe from the setout collar. |
Setout Collar |
Design hole collar reprojected by drill navigation for relative level (RL) variances. |
Setout Depth |
Distance between the setout collar and the design drill toe. |
Subdrill |
The additional depth drilled below the intended floor or grade level of the blast. The purpose of subdrilling is to ensure that the entire rock mass is adequately fragmented, avoiding any unbroken rock at the bottom of the blast hole. Subdrill is measured as the extra length added to the drill hole below the planned excavation or bench level. |
Vertical Overdrill |
Vertical distance between the design charge toe and the design drill toe. Read-only. |
Current
The current properties are the latest hole properties as updated by DataBlast Ignite. For example, current depth is updated each time a measurement is taken or a process, such as backfilling, is performed.

Measure
The measured properties derive from the dip process and focus on measured hole depth. The target in the Measure Module is the design charge toe, whereas in the Drill module it was the design drill toe. This is relevant where there is a positive overdrill component.
